In my seven years of identifying mail order and kit homes this house and garage is probably tops!

This Aladdin Massachusetts and Aladdin Peerless Garage is located in Webb City Mo and both are about as perfect and original as any I have ever seen!

The Aladdin Peerless garage was first offered in the 1914 catalog which BTW, features the Massachusetts on the cover!

The cover of the 1914 catalog features the Massachusetts which was the home of Aladdin Company founder William Sovereign, who ALSO built a Peerless garage! Unfortunately I don’t have a photo of that garage but I can see it via google street view.

That’s about as PERFECT as you can get! Ninety-five years later and it looks like it did the day it was built, exactly like the catalog image!   Although you can’t see the other side you can see the windows through the garage doors.  And the ORIGINAL garage doors to top it off.  Be still my heart.   This house and garage have been very well loved through the years. Mark was able to get the sales order for the house and the garage. I want to show you the sales order for the garage and compare the price of the garage on the sales order with the catalog price.

Garage price $247.00, that is the 20x20 garage. Extras $11.00 for double doors. Total $258.00. Cash discount of 5% $12.90 and the final total being $245.10 Isn't that fun?

Did you catch the paint color selection?

Wasn’t that fun? Have you ever seen such a perfect vintage garage? Such perfect original condition!

I absolutely wouldn’t change ANYTHING about this house or the garage!
Perfection I know of several hard core purists who would agree. Your thoughts?

  2. Great job on the article Rachel! The left side of the garage floor has an in-ground grease pit so that you can work on the bottom of a car while standing up underneath it, similar to the current oil-change services.
